Rare Original Late 19th Century Barley Twist Draw Leaf Extending Table With Shellac Finish
Table legs and table top with draw leafs have restored original Shellac finish with several new coats of original Shellac polish.
Shellac finish for furniture were widely used until 1860's. Furniture produced after mid 1800's was finished with varnish.
A very good solid oak draw leaf barley twist dining table. Made from solid oak timber with solid construction with a nice panelled top, strong Barley Twist legs, which are united by an X-frame under-stretcher. The table would seat 4 people when in the closed position, but this extends to 6 people when the two leaves are drawn out.
